คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น มุ่งสู่ความเป็นผู้นำด้านการวิจัยและนวัตกรรมเชิงพื้นที่ เพื่อพัฒนาองค์ความรู้และขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ของภูมิภาคอีสานสู่ระดับสากล ภายใต้วิสัยทัศน์ “Development and Design School of Innovation” คณะฯ บูรณาการศาสตร์ด้านสถาปัตยกรรม ผังเมือง และการออกแบบเข้ากับเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่ เพื่อสร้างผลงานวิจัยที่ตอบโจทย์ปัญหาจริงของชุมชน เมือง และสิ่งแวดล้อม งานวิจัยของคณะครอบคลุมตั้งแต่ระดับต้นน้ำถึงปลายน้ำ — จากการค้นคว้าเชิงวิชาการสู่การต่อยอดเป็นต้นแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ บริการ และระบบนวัตกรรม เช่น การออกแบบอาคารประหยัดพลังงานและเป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม (Green & Wellness Design) การวางแผนเมืองอัจฉริยะ (Smart City) การพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์สร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มจากวัฒนธรรมอีสาน (Cultural Product Design) และการวิจัยเพื่อคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุและผู้เปราะบาง (Universal Design for Aging Society) คณะฯ สนับสนุนให้นักวิจัยและนักศึกษาได้สร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่อย่างต่อเนื่อง ผ่านเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทั้งในและต่างประเทศ เช่น ฝรั่งเศส เยอรมนี ญี่ปุ่น และเวียดนาม เพื่อยกระดับผลงานสู่มาตรฐาน Scopus / ISI และส่งผลเชิงประจักษ์ต่อการพัฒนาเมืองและสังคมในภูมิภาคอีสาน

The Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University, is committed to becoming a regional leader in research and innovation for sustainable development under the vision “Development and Design School of Innovation.” By integrating architecture, urban planning, and design with modern technologies, the faculty generates research that responds to real-world challenges — from community well-being and environmental resilience to creative economy advancement. Its research spans across the full innovation spectrum — from academic inquiry to tangible impact — resulting in prototypes, products, and policy innovations such as green and wellness building design, smart city planning, Isan cultural product design, and universal design for aging society. Through active collaborations with national and international partners including France, Germany, Japan, and Vietnam, APDS promotes research excellence and knowledge transfer. The faculty strives to publish in leading international databases (Scopus/ISI) and to ensure that every research initiative translates into meaningful contributions to people, communities, and the planet.
